One such client serviced was the Government of Assam, finance department. KRAN was initially approached to address a contingency requirement to automate the budget preparation in the Finance Department. The requirement was met by leveraging the company’s Integrated Financial Management System “Probity Financials”, which was implemented with necessary customisation and enhancement as “FinAssam” project. FinAssam went on to become the most successful and cost effective IFMS solution in the country, and was developed and implemented in record time. It also achieved the distinction of bringing out the first paperless budget in the country.

FinAssam comprises all activities under Budget Preparation, Budget Modification, Budget Control, Budget Execution and Monitoring in addition to a few other custom modules. The solution is implemented across all 56 Administrative Departments and over 120 Field Departments. Presently, over 12,000 active and regular users access the application for their routine financial management activities in Assam. Self Service facility is provided to over 5.5 Lakh Government Employees.

Further making its contributions to the Public Sector domain, the company aims at setting up a separate entity called CPART in the near future where it will be an exclusive centre for study, consulting and training in Public Administration.
